Song of play
Dmitry Flowerkov’s «Song of Spect» project began more than 20 years ago when the first graphic sheets were created, the beginning of a series of poems by the favorite poets of the artist Joseph of Brodsky, Nikolai Olenikov, Lucrezia, and others.

In addition to the graphics, which are based on the traditional Flower species — the «colored people» — it also includes individual figures in the form of «big music» and soft objects in the form of drums and string instruments. The visual and tangible things here represent unheard music, that is, something ephemeral, but created by diligent manual labor.

The title of the «Song of Specta» exhibition does not represent a tragic end, but rather an ironic attitude. His noteworks, which Flowers called «columbical» or «songs,» he created, in his spare time, defecated from exhausting business orders.

«Brodsky Cable» was first shown at the «Left Space» exhibition at the Ruarts Gallery in December 2022, and some of the notes of the Flowers were displayed at the Moscow Museum, Krasnoyarsk and Berlin. As a separate large-scale project, «Song of Speth» was shown at the Ruarts Gallery in the summer of 2023.
