The purpose of Kotchka is to rethink furniture for pets by integrating it into common living space and creating solutions that suit both owners and their furry friends. A study among different groups of cats showed that small rental apartments are more likely to require compact products that do not require walls to be drilled. The existing furniture is often unstable, quickly worn out, crumbled, and smelled of glue, rather than scaring away cats. The kitten connects Ikea’s practicality with a pinch of fun and bizarre design. The basic concept is to develop furniture, understood as a child designer, that will fit into the interior in a solid and harmonious manner. With a focus on light assembly and the use of environmentally sound, durable materials: cannabis fibre, yarn and MDF. In addition, most of the details can be replaced as they wear and castomate.
